hi everybody ....

spent a day fighting with outlook to permit access to a received
.exe attachement which was classified as dangerous by outlook.
yes software does these decisions for you.

since it took a long time i post the solution here:
use the friendly regedit tool

for outlook 2003
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
add a new string value
Level1Remove
containing a semicolon delimited list of file extensions
.exe;.zip

then restart your outlook and you are all set.
anoying but there is always a fix ...

regards,
u.

Attachment Options (http://www.slovaktech.com/attachmentoptions.htm) works with Outlook 2002 and 2003. It adds an extra tab under security in options, so you won't have to hack the registry yourself. Works pretty well.
