The shmoo group recently released a nice wireless client utility "IDS" at toorcon this year. It protect against rogue access points and can be found at hxxp://airsnarf.shmoo.com/
click on the "NEW! Download the Hot Spot Defense Kit for Windows XP HERE."
From their demo, it appear they wrote it using nothing but the WMI. It was an interesting talk and i guess you really never know how much power you have until you put what you know together, i for one already knew about WMI, but never put my knowledge together to realize i could do this and how effective it could be.
I think this is written in c# and requires the .Net Framework. Anyways, test it out, it should work on any XP machine. It will protect you from those nasty Rogue AP's.
Funny though how they release the protection after the attack. Airsnarf before the IDS.
