Hi guys,
I have a question, which answer i cant find on the www.
OS: Win2k Adv. Server
When for example a domain administrator is logged in, and u can view his actions via WINVNC and he left the computer, then:
- How long does it take before the computer locks up?
- Any possibility to disable this (is this configered on the main server)?
- Mouse activity is enough to keep the system unlocked?
Thanx in advance
Greetz

It wont go in to a locked state just by leaving it (unless its set to password protected screen saver).

Which most smart admins enable. Even though the server should be physically secured and always locked manually when you leave, its an extra precaution.

it would be even smarter to log off. if you lock it with say admin123 account, then the next person, say admin321, can't unlock the machine.
admin321 could of course log off admin123, but unsaved work would be lost

When another admin "unlocks" a user it logs them off. Sometimes you need it to be logged in.
I agree that when it isn't necessary you should log off.

Yes Mouse activity is enough to keep it unlocked !!!
it doesnt matter if its locked if you are loggin through TermServer.
But u will be presented with a locked screen if ure gonna login via VNC.
