in the following days i start a to of information gathering on the
subject of device identification techniques.

currently i use xprobe and nmap but the response profile
ist a little bit to few for my oppinion.

if anybody has got additional techniques ideas to enumerate
security devices, application proxies, packet filters, transparent
gateways please let me know ...

the result will be a paper which will be posted here
until mid of august.

I've found that the Foundscan product from Foundstone is very accurate, even for weird stuff like HP Printers and Webcams.

Only problem is... like 10K for an unlimted license!
